| Junior Divemaster

The PADI Junior Divemaster course is a subset of the PADI Divemaster course that is designed to engage and motivate interested youth divers into the next step, becoming a PADI Professional. This is a new programme, currently only available through PADI Approved Youth Training Centres.

Adapted from the full Divemaster course, it includes some of the core elements, with some adaptions for youth divers aged 15-17.

This once you have completed this course you can assist PADI Professionals with many dive management duties and become great diving ambassadors.

If you are a PADI Junior Diver you will need to upgrade your PADI Junior Diver certifications, once you have upgraded your certification card you no longer have age-related restrictions while scuba diving. Order your replacement card online and the system will automatically produce an upgraded card based on your age. The PADI Junior Divemaster course is a subset of the PADI Divemaster course and once qualified as a Junior Divemaster, you will be able to do

  • Dive Site Setup and Management
  • Surface Support
  • Assist a PADI Instructor in 2 person skill demos
  • Dive Site briefings (Supervised)
  • Environmental and Promotional Presentations

You will not be able to work in a supervisory role until you’ve turned 18 and Upgrade and completed the full Divemaster course.

To become a PADI Junior Divemaster you will need to complete:

  • e-Learning for PADI Divemaster
  • Prepare an emergency action plan
  • Prepare an dive site mapping project
  • Search and Recovery Scenario
  • Waterskills development, this includes
    • Swims
    • Snorkel Swim
    • Tired Diver Tow
    • Tread Water
    • 24 Skills Workshop

As well as this, the candidate will need to meet the professionalism criteria from the PADI Divermaster course.

  • Current EFR qualification (First Aid) – This can be completed as part of your course
  • Minimum of 40 logged dives, including experience of deep and navigation
  • Also recommended to hold the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provide

The fit and comfort of your personal equipment are key to having an enjoyable diving experience. As a minimum, we would recommend your own mask, snorkel, but as you a starting your journey to become a PADI Professional you should start to build your personal equipment collection

During your course, we will include FREE rental of all of the above core dive gear items only. You will be required to collect your core dive gear prior to the open water training dives from DiveStyle

  • Certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver
  • Minimum age of 15
  • Logged 20 scuba dives
