Advanced Buoyancy – Getting The Most Out of Your Diving
The Advanced Buoyancy course is a course fully conducted in open water over two days. The course aims are to optimise the buoyancy control of a diver through additional finning techniques, equipment configuration and review of position during all aspects of the dive.
Streamlined and graceful, a diver with good buoyancy glides through the water effortlessly, reducing physical exertion, air consumption and placing the diver in full control at any given depth.
What You Will Cover?
As the course progresses your journey will cover all aspects needed to enhance your buoyancy skills so that by the end of the two days you will be gliding through water, with minimum effort and in some cases as if you are not moving an inch!
In this course you will learn how to breathe, when to kick and when not to kick to reach buoyancy perfection underwater.
The 2 days diving is all about tailoring the activities to you, looking at your equipment setup and current skill set, tweaking to get the best possible result and also introducing a techniques that you can take away and practice in your own time, such as skill circuits.
With good buoyancy control, you will consume less air, and is less likely to get fatigue underwater. You will also utilise different fin kick methods to make manoeuvring underwater easier.
During the Advanced Buoyancy course, you will learn new skills such as backward finning (Reverse Frog kick), 360° finning (Helicopter fin kicks) as well as reviewing your current finning technique.
As part of the Advanced Buoyancy course, you will learn how the slightest reconfiguration of your equipment can have an effect upon your propulsion and positioning in water.
Where Can You Go Next?
This course is ideal for anyone who is looking to get the best out of their buoyancy, but is also a fantastic course to attend prior to starting your tech diving journey (such a the PADI Tec 40 course or the GUE Fundies or the IANTD Essentials course) or if you simply need a revision of your tech diving buoyancy skills.
