  PADI Open Water Diver

Now
is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive programme in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with DiveStyle, Berkshire’s leading diver training organisation.

Whatever your needs from learning to dive through to becoming an instructor, from joining a dive club to diving holidays – it is all available in one place here at DiveStyle.

Why PADI Open Water?
As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognised and respected qualification in the world; you have the freedom to dive anywhere in the world. DiveStyle offers two options – the Open Water Diver qualification or a Referral course where you complete the final four qualifying dives at a later stage on holiday.

What do I need to start?
Virtually anyone who is in good health Medical Form, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification.

You must be 15 years or older to begin the PADI Open Water Diver programme. For those between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, the PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification is available. It is the same thorough training but with some minor diving restrictions.

It's a gift for someone and I don't know which date to book?
No problem, book the course on-line for the dummy course on the 25th December and we will know that you will want to move to your chosen date at a later stage. There is no extra cost for this option.

What will I do?
Throughout the course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including correct use of dive equipment and diving techniques. You earn this qualification by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four dives in open water.

How long will it take?
PADI programmes are performance based. You will proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. Generally speaking it takes most people either two weekends, or if you prefer, 6 evening sessions and a weekend to earn their open water diver qualification. For the Referral course it takes just one weekend or 6 evening sessions.

What will I need?
We supply all materials as part of the course. These will include:
PADI Open Water Crew-Pak
PADI Open Water DVD
All equipment needed for the pool training plus all major items for the open water dives. Students are expected to own basic equipment (mask, fins, snorkel, boots and gloves) for open water dives, although these are available to hire.

Where can I go from here?
Continue the adventure with PADI’s Adventures in Diving programme, your next step in exploring the underwater world. Stop by the dive centre or ask your instructor for more information on the PADI Adventures In Diving programme.
